(Not so) Beautiful trip by Marcelina Nalepka

Our trip to California

I am not a normal person. I cleaned up the entire house, did the laundry, took a shower and did my nails. It was 2 in the morning. I decided to wake Maciek up and get on the road already. I drove first, till 4 or 5 am when the sun was already up. We switched and I was able to get some sleep.
That day we've planned to get to Denver, Colorado. As soon as we got close to the city, the radio went off and there was an emergency broadcast. "Find shelter. Tornado is coming".
I freaked out a little. Okay, I freaked out a lot. We were tired as hell but continued to drive cause I would not stay in the center of hell even for one night. Even if you would've paid me to do so.
We drove and drove for whoever knows how many hours already. It was dark as it only could be. No lights around in Utah were showing beautiful stars.
We've stopped to switch the drivers position but I've heard coyotes. We're not getting out of the car. They can eat us. They WILL eat us. (Am I childish? Nah)
We did the switch without leaving the car. Did I mention we've already passed Green River Utah?
There is no hotels or motels around. Just coyotes that will eat you if you stay.
We've had to drive to Saline, Utah where we've found a nice motel to get us through few hours that were left of the night.

Driving through Las Vegas the next day was awesome. It certainly amazed me with what it looked like.
We couldn't stop on our way to California, because I'm more than sure we would be too broke to even get to the ocean. We'll see you for few days on our way back, you hot heaven.

We got to our hotel in Huntington Beach, California in the afternoon. We've decided to drive around.
I stopped on the red light when I felt some shaking. The car broke down? It took us all the way from Illinois just to break down? Then I've noticed... Our engine was working properly, green light was on but no car was driving. It was an earthquake.
I panicked... Nothing new.

Our way to get to California was trying to kill me... First tornado watch, then coyotes and now an EARTHQUAKE?!

Don't take me on vacation with you. That ain't gonna end well.r way to get to California was trying to kill me... First tornado watch, then coyotes and now an EARTHQUAKE?!
